The latest data from Nielsen indicates that Android currently takes the crown regarding mobile OS market share with 39%. Apple and RIM follow with 28% and 20% respectively. Windows Phone 7 has about 9%, while webOS and Symbian basically have no marketshare with only 2% each.
I think that RIM will continue to lose ground and Windows Phone 7 should be able to surpass Blackberry devices in the coming 1-2 years. Microsoft has already convinced many manufacturers to produce WP7 devices, and at the same time they push their mobile OS strong with the upcoming Mango release. I can’t see RIM having any product which could stop this development. While the Blackberry Playbook is nice try RIM needs to overhaul their mobile OS badly.
