Google acquires Motorola Mobility

Today Google announced that Motorola Mobility will soon be a part of the Google empire. At first this might seem very surprising as Google always said that they are not interested getting into the hardware business, but looking at all those recent patent issues Google has to handle it makes a lot of sense for them to strengthen their mobile patent portfolio.

Of course Android will remain open and its still very important for Google to have good relations with all other hardware manufactures.

And maybe we will finally see a nexus device from Motorola which would be really great.
