Motorola Xoom to finally get Android 3.1 update in August

Motorola confirmed that european Motorola Xoom users can expect to receive the Android 3.1 update on the 9th of august.

“Android™ 3.1 for Motorola XOOM™ will soon be available over the air to all Motorola XOOM users in Europe. We expect the over-the-air deployment to begin in early August, with the package being available for pull by August 9th.”

One of the major new features will be the sd card reader activation. The Motorola Xoom launched with an sd card slot, but wasn’t actually able to read sd cards as the slot was not activated yet.
