Well, this doesn't sound normal. I'm using the Motorola Milestone for over one month now, and never had this kind of problems with Android 2.0 main apps like email, contacts, calendar and so on. I have also installed a lot (about 30) apps from the market, and the device is still very stable.

It's hard to tell what the reason for your force closes might be, but sometimes it's not Androids fault but some 3rd party app issue. Did you install many 3rd party apps? Or have you tried anything "unusual" like rooting your device? If not, then you should try a hard reset (factory reset) to see if that makes it better. Also did you update to the newest Android 2.0.1 version? As far as i know it should be available for Motorola Droid users.

You shouldn't get any force closes when working with basic Android apps, i haven't heard of such general issues on the Motorola Milestone or Droid.

My Motorola Droid is quite unstable, and forcloses a lot on different aps...even typing email...get almost done, and then
it shuts down. What's with this...we can't have a phone so unstable that it's not dependable on manditory things like email. I love this phone, idea and concept, especially the
Google seemless tie in..but I"m investing far too much time on this Droid Motorola (I got it just 10 days ago, December 20 in Raleigh)

Is there something I can do to make this more stable. Trade it in as a lemon? Pick a certain button? It's getting exhausting.

@mo: the specs are the same, it only says "up to 600 Mhz" which probably means 550 Mhz by default.

http://developer.motorola.com/products/milestone/

But there are other differences like multitouch support on the Motorola Milestone and more. I will write about them in my coming Android 2.0 review.

To avoid confusion i replaced "600Mhz" in my article with "550Mhz" since the german Motorola page only mentions "550 Mhz".

One of the best reviews out there, i hope you tackle the uproar milestone users having for not being able to see either protected nor apps to buy on their devices.
