I made the experience that automatic updates after login don't work always as you said, but after manually using the refresh button i get the updates. Great point about comments on pictures. The more I use the app the more I find things I like and things I don't like (for example, it often doesn't show new updates for many hours, but it is fantastic for posting photos/videos on the go).
